Alyssa Walsh
Physiotherapy Resident
Alyssa is from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and grew up on the South Shore. She recently completed her Physiotherapy degree at Dalhousie University, but is no stranger to working in the rehab and paediatric world! Following her completion of Kinesiology at Dalhousie, Alyssa worked for 5 years in the non-profit sector providing movement and exercise programming for children and adults with neuromuscular conditions. During this time, she also completed her Diploma in Conductive Education (CE) and provided CE for children and adults for 3 years before returning to school for Physiotherapy. This experience helped solidify Alyssa’s love for working in rehabilitation and ignited a passion for making therapy accessible, enjoyable and individualized for each person she works with. She firmly believes in and applies a client-centred approach and meeting people where they’re at.
Alyssa is excited to get to begin her Physiotherapy career with the Kids Physio team and get to return to working with children of all ages and abilities. She has special interests in neuromuscular conditions and complex pain and is excited to gain more expertise in these (and all!) areas through collaboration with clients, families, and other professionals.
In her free time Alyssa enjoys spending time with her Husband and their dog (2 year old Malamute, Seamus), hiking and camping, figure skating, running, CrossFit, baking bread, and reading.
